Fuss & O’Neill Adopts Defender Safety H2 Type 2 Safety Helmets to Enhance Project Site Safety - Defender Safety

Fuss & O’Neill, a leader in environmental, health, and safety consulting, has taken a significant step in enhancing workplace safety by adopting the Defender Safety H2 Type 2 Safety Helmets for their workforce. The move is aimed at providing superior protection for employees operating in high-risk environments.

Robert Levandoski, the President of Fuss & O’Neill, emphasized the company's commitment to safety in a recent statement: "As presented earlier today, Fuss & O’Neill continues to be on the leading edge of safety. We are expanding PPE availability to include Type 2 safety helmets for employees working regularly in an environment with a high risk of falling objects and debris, impacts from equipment, awkward working positions, working from heights, and/or slip, trip, and fall hazards. We are also aware of two instances where general contractors required Type 2 safety helmets to be worn at their sites."

The Defender Safety H2 Type 2 Safety Helmet is designed to offer protection against both top and side impacts, a crucial feature that distinguishes it from traditional Type 1 hard hats, which only protect against top impacts. Additionally, the inclusion of chin straps in Type 2 helmets ensures that the head protection remains securely in place, even during strenuous activities.

This decision aligns with recent OSHA guidelines, which recommend enhanced head protection in the workplace. The OSHA Safety and Health Information Bulletin for Head Protection emphasizes the importance of using helmets that provide comprehensive protection, especially in environments with diverse hazards. The full bulletin can be found here: OSHA SHIB.

By integrating the Defender Safety H2 helmets into their safety protocols, Fuss & O’Neill demonstrates a proactive approach to employee safety, setting a new standard for personal protective equipment in the industry. The adoption of these advanced safety helmets reflects the company's ongoing dedication to safeguarding their workforce and ensuring a safe working environment for all.
