Teddy Haggerty is a New York-based entrepreneur who founded Defender Safety with a mission to innovate safety products. Teddy had grown up in the industrial product world, as his father owned a successful hardware store in Queen’s, New York. After being around the industrial industry for years, Teddy noticed that throughout the years, minimal improvements were made to the required safety products utilized on job sites, which became the driving factor of starting Defender Safety.
Defender Safety represents a new generation of safety manufacturing and development. Haggerty assembled a highly talented team of leaders in the industry, engineers, designers, and compliance experts to help him disrupt the safety industry. By bridging new designs and concepts with state-of-the-art manufacturing and world-class logistics Defender Safety connects customers with product innovation that exceeds industry standards.
One of the company pillars that Haggerty instilled is quality design and engineering of Defender-branded products. He insists that Defender be at the forefront and that is why, in a very short period of time, Defender Safety has been issued a multitude of patents. Another pillar is a community, Teddy continues to give back by working with local officials and first responders throughout the New York Metropolitan area. During the pandemic Defender Safety’s procedure masks, face shields and gloves were on the front lines helping to protect our doctors, nurses, patients, and all first responders.
Before founding, Defender Safety, Haggerty worked in the tech and investment industry where he was building crypto infrastructure, including some of the largest bitcoin mines. His roots have always been in manufacturing and distribution as his parents own and operate a successful construction supply house in New York where Teddy learned the ropes.
